As it is chocolate
Somalis that I would like to concentrate on breeding in the future
we just
had to keep this excellent type, pretty little girl and what a sweet
little girl she is!
She loves nothing better than a comfy lap to curl up or stretch out
on and simply adores a fuss.
As a small kitten she was not quite as confident as her sister Willow, but extremely
inquisitive and likes to examine closely any
new object brought into the house. If she could climb inside it so
much the better!
If she finds a tasty morsel of food though her growl to warn others
to keep away would do a large dog proud!
Whilst not being quite so dark a chocolate as her brother (who was
stunning!), she does have lovely dark heels, toe tufts and spine
line. Her undercoat is a very apricot colour.
Her show career got off
to an excellent start in June 2009 when, at Merseyside, she was awarded a
First and Best of Breed in her open class and she also took Best
Semi Longhaired Kitten in the show. She took the
whole experience in her stride and was very relaxed all day and
surprisingly the experience of showing seems to have given her
confidence and self assurance.
At her second show she
was also awarded a First and Best of Breed in her open class and she
delighted us by having a "Red Card Day" (First place in all her side
classes). Thank you to all her judges.
This day her sister,
Willow, was awarded Best Semi Longhaired Kitten in the show.
We must be doing
something right at last! Two shows, Two Best SLH Kittens!
As an adult she was made
up to Champion in her first 3 shows. Our thanks go to her judges
Mary Kalal, Daphne Butters and Sally Tokens.
She will now have a
break from showing to concentrate on Maternal duties. She is a wonderfully
instinctive mother, encouraging her kittens to take each next step
of their development with mews and chirrups, whilst still remaining
the lovely, confident sweet natured poppet into which she has
matured.
