Horus was, from birth a
very confident kitten.
He is a really good example of his breed with a well ticked warm
fawn coat of good length.
He is growing well and as he matures he improves in both looks and
confidence.
Even at only 9 months he was very much the boss of our "pride".
We just had to keep him
to replace his Dad as he is such a good cat and, fortunately, he is producing
some lovely kittens for us.
He is a very
affectionate cat and adores attention. He delights in giving us
kisses and grooming our hair (both typical Somali traits) and he is
fascinated by male facial hair, seeing it as his job to groom to
perfection.
Horus wowed the
judges at his first show.
He took a first in his open class and was awarded a CC and BOB,
beating our lovely Hazel to this honour. He was also placed first in
2 of his 3 side classes, coming second in the third. An excellent
debut!
At his second outing - to a joint show between The Somali Cat Club
and The Semi Longhaired Cat Association he was placed first and
awarded CC and BOB in both shows so is now a Champion.
We thank judges Mary
Kalal, Joyce Green and Alison Lyall for considering him worthy.
He was also best in show adult male in the 2010 Somali Show. We are
very
proud of him.
We have entered
him in a few grand classes and he has so far been awarded a couple of
Grand Certificates. We would like to thank judges Sheila Hamilton
and Jane Allen for these. He also has to date 5 Reserve Reserve
Certificates from a variety of judges.
Horus has now retired
from breeding and showing and has been neutered and re-homed. He has
produced some beautiful kittens in his time, including litters
currently available with us and at Tagher Somalis in Liverpool.
For details of his
current kittens please go to our kittens page and call us to talk
about cats if you think you may be interested in being owned by one.
