Cat Show Report (Preston and Blackpool -28th March 2009)
Barbara
Bullivant – Household Pets
Thanks to Jacky
and team for inviting me to judge and to my “other half” Chris for
so ably stewarding for me.
Class 855 LH
or SH Unregistered cat or kitten with one registered parent.
1st MC BOB to
Newstead’s Bramble.
A large,
impressive mature chocolate and white neuter boy of substance. Cobby
body on shortish, sturdy legs. Gentle expression to match his gentle
nature. Obviously likes his food! Well prepared and easy to handle.
Class 858 AV Kitten
A lovely class
of 4 pretty girls
1st
Jackson’s Millie.
A tiny, pretty
grey and white girl of just 19 weeks.
She had a sweet expression and nature, was inquisitive in her pen
and very relaxed out of it. Her short, dense coat was beautifully
prepared. She was just adorable and loved being handled. Definitely
my “take home” cat of the day.
2nd
Christian’s Autumn Gold.
Another lovely
young female, this time a beautifully marked, rich coloured tortie
tabby well suited to her name. Her fine, silky coat was prepared to
perfection.
She had a lovely expression and gentle temperament and she also
enjoyed being handled, though was not quite as relaxed as my first.
Unlucky to meet my first today, but went on to win BIS HP. Well
done.
3rd
Steel’s Bliss
An older much
bigger female kitten of substance with a gentle expression in her
blue eyes and lovely seal tortie point bi colour markings. Sweet
natured, gentle and easy to handle. Her coat was quite well
prepared, but just not quite up to the standard of my first two.
4th
Edward’s Polly
Another pretty
female just 4 months old.
A little over-awed by the occasion today. Her black and white coat
was beautifully prepared.
Not too happy out of her pen, more relaxed inside when she gave my
steward lots of lovely kisses.
With a little more confidence her day will surely come.
Class 867 AV
Cat or Kitten shown by an adult
1st
Kidd’s MC Alfred.
A mature,
medium sized tabby and white short haired neuter boy on short but
sturdy legs.
A very young looking 10 year old. Lovely silky texture to his
beautifully prepared coat.
Sweet nature and a joy to handle.
2nd
Christian’s Teddy Boy
Another
substantial, mature boy with a lovely head and expression. this time
a blue.
Lovely to handle and lovely personality. Not quite so well prepared
as my 1st.
870 LH Cat
or Kitten with Fluffiest Coat
1st
(only entry) Steel’s Bliss
873
Prettiest exhibit
1st
Jackson’s Millie
2nd
Steel’s Bliss
Unlucky to meet
today’s winner in this class
3rd
Kidd’s MC Daisy
Another pretty
girl this time a little older at 2 years. Well prepared black and
white short haired coat. She was just a little tense today so not
showing herself off at her best.
876 Cat or
Kitten with the Most Unusual Colour
1st
Christian’s Autumn Gold
I loved the
rich colours and the patterning in this little girl’s coat.
2nd
Newstead’s Bramble.
Very dark
chocolate (almost black) markings on this boy. Unlucky to meet my
first today.
879 AC Cat
or kitten Arthur and Enid Burrows Memorial Class
A class of
confident heavyweight short haired boys that were quite hard to
separate and gave me quite a headache!
1st
Jackson’s MC Alex.
A hefty short
haired tabby boy with expressive green eyes. He had a substantial
body on fine, dainty legs and paws. It was his wonderful temperament
that eventually gained him first place. Well prepared coat.
2nd
Lomax’s Casey.
I really liked
this young grey tabby boy. He had a very sweet face and lovely
expression. His coat was very well prepared. He was just a bit
wriggly today and happier back in his pen.
3rd
Newstead’s Bramble
4th
Creaton and Walker’s Little Rascal.
Another
handsome boy. This time Black and White though surely mis-named as
he had a very gentle nature and was a dream to handle. His sturdy
body was supported on short, legs with dainty paws.
His dense coat
was well prepared.
5th
Kidd’s MC Garfield.
A very
attractive mature ginger boy of substance. Obviously living up to
his cartoon character name-sake!
He had
expressive green eyes and climbed out of his pen for a cuddle with
my steward. I really thought
I was going to
like this boy a lot but he was unfortunately not as well prepared as
the other exhibits in the class and his reaction to being put back
in his pen let him down.
882 Black,
White or Black and White
1st
Gardiner’s Gucci La Boo
A mature,
black, heavyweight boy with very expressive, yellow eyes. He took
some persuading to leave his pen but was very happy once out. His
solid body was supported by fine legs and dainty paws. He had a very
sweet temperament and his short, glossy coat was well prepared.
2nd
Kidd’s MC Daisy
3rd
Creaton and Walker’s Little Rascal
4th
Crutchley’s Oscar
A chunky, short
haired black boy with a gentle expression in his lovely green eyes
and a shiny, silky coat. He was, unfortunately a bit grumbly out of
his pen today which is what let him down.
