Welcome to Baranchri Maine Coons
We
are Barbara and Chris Bullivant. We live between our two houses in
South Manchester and on Anglesey with our Somalis and Maine Coons.
It was at our
first all breed show that we discovered the Maine
Coon. Our Somali Pixel was penned next to a magnificent brown tabby
and white Maine Coon kitten by the name of Beardwood Excalibur bred
by Norrie Crook of Beardwood Maine Coons and owned by Kath Atkinson
of Katmea Maine Coons. Chris was allowed a cuddle and was so
impressed by this giant sized, lovely friendly boy that he became
fixated with the idea that he had to have one just like him.
Barbara was not so sure as she adored her Somalis but she was
overruled and so Karolou Katrina, a mackerel tortie tabby with no
white, came to live with us. Thanks to the late Brian and his wife
Elaine Harvey. Katrina hated showing so
much that after three traumatic tries with her she was retired from
the show bench. No matter how many cats were in the class she came
last! She has however produced some lovely kittens for us but not
yet a brown tabby with white..jpg)
Meanwhile we had been looking around at the cats at the show (as you
do) and talking to the owners and breeders and we discovered Jacky
Edwards of Darktower Maine Coons who lived only a couple of miles
away from us. Barbara paid her a visit, liked Jacky and her cats, in
Particular Beardwood Tomas O’Mally, and so took Chris along to
visit. A kitten was duly booked but it was over a year before Chris
saw one he liked enough to commit. We saw some superb kittens,
including the now Grand Champion Darktower Chenin, but he had a
picture in his head of exactly what he wanted and Darktower Benttley
fitted the bill perfectly. He came to live with us in 2003.
Our story continues, but is best
followed by going to the individual pages for each cat!
